Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

No prior judicial experience.

Abbreviated Candidate Answers

No judicial experience.

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

My 25 year legal career has given me well rounded, hands-on legal experience in many areas of the law, arguing cases of all types. Over that time, I handled thousands of felony and civil cases in local, state, and federal courts.  My time as a Trumbull County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney was instrumental in my understanding of criminal practice, including capital proceedings. My years in private practice gave me extensive experience with criminal defense, appellate issues, civil rights cases, Constitutional law, family court matters, and general civil practice.

The same qualities that make me a good litigator will make me a good judge.  I have won several cases where my skills of cross examination, active listening and aggressive questioning, have worked to my advantage.  I am adept at asking the right questions to get to the heart of the matter.  I am open minded and have the ability to look at an issue from all angles, while still respecting legal precedent.  I have an abiding respect for the bench and for our laws as written.
