Question 1
List your judicial experience (courts and years)
I have not served as a judge prior to this.
Question 2
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
I have spent my entire legal career in Pickaway County. I have tried criminal cases, domestic cases, and civil cases. I have tried more than 50 jury trials. Therefore, I have experience in all of the matters that would come before the Court of Common Pleas.
Question 3
Why are you running for this particular court seat?
Service has always been an important part of my life. My father and his three brothers all served this country in World War II. My father was a bombardier. His plane was shot down over the North Sea and he was taken prisoner by the German army. He spent 21 months in a POW camp until the war was over. That experience would have changed most people, but my father still believed in the freedoms that he and his brothers fought for and in service to your community and country. He and my mother taught me the importance of service to others.
It is the commitment to my community that has made me want to continue my service to the legal profession. I have spent my entire legal career in Pickaway County. During the past 30 years, I have tried cases ranging from speeding tickets to murder as a prosecutor. In my private practice, I handled civil and domestic cases.
I bring the kind of legal experience that the public expects from our judges. I have a deep understanding of the law and a passion for justice. This opportunity would allow me to continue to serve my community and to give back to the legal profession.
