Question 2
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
Prior to my election, I practiced appellate law and ran a general practice law firm working in most areas of law that come before the court. I handled criminal and civil matters, probate cases, and regularly appeared in domestic relations and juvenile courts. I was a court appointed guardian ad litem for over twenty years.
I believe leadership is important. I have been involved with different organizations throughout my career. I have served on city council and school board. I am the immediate past president of the Oakwood Rotary Club and current president of the Dayton Bar Association Inn of Court. I have also volunteered as a mentor through the University of Dayton School of Law and the Ohio Supreme Court. I was involved in the Appellate Practice and Procedure course at UD Law for twenty years and taught family law for three years.

Question 3
Why are you running for this particular court seat?
I am running so I can continue to serve the Second District Court of Appeals until I am limited by age. It has been an honor and privilege working in the court with outstanding colleagues and staff. I believe I can continue to bring value to the court. My prior legal experience was vital to me as an appellate judge and I rely on it routinely. Community involvement is important to our profession - I teach continuing legal education courses to different bar associations and I serve as a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Professionalism.
