First elected in 2006, and re-elected in 2012 and 2018.

Served by assignment on the Ohio Supreme Court and several other Ohio Court of Appeals.
Question 2
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
Prior to joining the bench, I practiced in a wide range of legal areas in both state and federal courts and learned to be a quick study of legal issues and precedents in each of those areas, which prepared me well for the diversity of matters decided at the appellate level. Working with both public and private clients, I have a good understand of the impact of court proceedings on people's lives and business affairs, so I strive to be prompt, courteous and prepared for each day in court and to listen fairly to both sides prior to rendering a decision.
Question 3
Why are you running for this particular court seat?
I love my job and serving the hard working people of the District, plus traveling to our 15 beautfiul counties. My collegues and I are dedicated to the independence, intergity and impartiality of our court. Our Administrative Staff works tirelessly to support us in those efforts (even through a global pandemic!). We strive to administer justice in a timely and efficient manner because we understand how important our rulings are to the parties in the case and the community. If re-elected to a 4th term, I will serve as chief judge-elect (2024) and then chief judge (2025) of the Court of Appeals Judges Association, the statewide leader of appellate judges. I look forward to that honor.
Thank you to all the voters who have supported me throughout the years. I look forward to serving another term and appreciate your consideration of my qualifications.
