Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

Magistrate, Lucas County Juvenile Court, 4/2022-1/2024

Abbreviated Candidate Answers

Magistrate, Lucas County Juvenile Court, 4/2022-1/2024

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

I have been working in this area of the law for 24 years.  As a Magistrate, I was tasked with handling dependency, neglect and abuse cases as well as private custody cases.  Prior to becoming a Magistrate, I was in private practice and represented clients in both family law and criminal matters where I handled all issues related to custody, divorce, children services issues and guardian ad litem work.  I was also a staff attorney for the Toledo Legal Aid Society as an Assistant Public Defender where I represented adults and juveniles charged with both felony and misdemeanor matters.  I am exceptionally qualified to handle all cases that come before the Court.  I have the experience necessary for this position as my career has been child and family centered and focused on representing parties in the most difficult time of their lives.  In my career, both on the bench and off, I have been tasked with making hard choices for the best interest of the children.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

Given my extensive background focusing on families and children in my career, I feel a strong calling to preside as a judge, aiming to broaden my capacity to assist those who appear before the court. The Juvenile Court significantly influences and impacts numerous lives, and my wealth of experience positions me to navigate the challenging decisions that ultimately serve the best interests of the child. Having represented families and children in this legal setting and previously served as a Magistrate, I bring a unique qualification that sets me apart as the optimal candidate for this role. I am dedicated to serving my community and furthering initiatives and programs that positively impact juveniles and families.
