Question 1
List your judicial experience (courts and years)
Licking County Municipal Court 2010 - Present
Question 2
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
Prior to taking the bench, I practiced criminal law and debtors' rights and appeared in the municipal court regularly during my 11 year career in private practice. I have represented over 1000 individuals and have learned how to work with a diverse group of people. I appeared in many courts during my years of private practice and worked with many different judges. I believe that my non-judicial experience makes me very qualified to continue to serve on the municipal court.
Question 3
Why are you running for this particular court seat?
I am running for re-election because this is the best way for me to serve my community. While the majority of the court's docket is criminal cases, the Court handles civil matters as well. My commitmment to the people who appear before me is to treat them respectfully and provide equal access to justice for all.
I am also running for re-election because my experience as a judge allows me to continuously learn new things. I believe that if re-elected, the municipal court will continue to operate smoothly and efficiently. As has been said many times before, justice delayed is justice denied.
