Question 1
List your judicial experience (courts and years)
2011-present Judge of the Domestic Relations Division of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas.
2008-2011 Magistrate of the Domestic Relations Division of the Court of Common Pleas
Question 2
What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
Prior to my judicial career I maintained a solo practice which focused on family law, probate, and real estate matters . Each area required not only my legal expertise but also negotiation and mediation skills.
In addition, my extensive private business experience has given me an excellent background in resolving interpersonal conflicts.
Question 3
Why are you running for this particular court seat?
I decided to run for a third term in order to advance and maintain the many innovative, creative programs and services established during my tenure. With my support and guidance, our Court has developed systems to increase timely access to justice and support the people we serve regardless of economic backgrounds. This included but is not limited to our dispute resolution services, the Family Law Clinic, the Family Visitation Center, our Self-Help Center and electronic filing. Multiple Ohio Counties have visited our Court to learn and duplicate many of our services.
Our Dispute Resolution Department is staffed with Master degreed Social Workers who offer a menu of services from mediation, custody evaluation, parenting coordination, and early neutral evaluations. Hamilton County Domestic Relations Court is truly a leader in Ohio with regard to services offered to families in conflict. I find it personally rewarding to be able to help families in distress through these valuable services.
