Question 1

List your judicial experience (courts and years)

Warren County Domestic Relations Court Magistrate 1/2014 - 5/2021

Abbreviated Candidate Answers

Warren County Domestic Relations Court Magistrate 1/2014 - 5/2021.

Question 2

What non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?

In my fifteen + years of private practice, I represented hundreds of families throughout Southwest Ohio in all aspects of Domestic Relations law, from property agreements and child custody to prenuptial agreements and grandparents' rights. I understand the financial and emotional difficulties of divorcing couples and I understand the vital importance of compassion, expertise, and efficiency for their families.

I am an expert in the area of Domestic Relations. I achieved the designation of Certified Family Law Specialist in 2011. I taught Family Law Practice at the UC College of Law.  As a former teacher, I am able to help our unrepresented litigants understand the processes and procedures of our Court.

I firmly believe that the Court's job is to help people through the difficult transitions of divorce by creating workable parenting plans and equitable property and support orders.  The end of a marriage does not mean the end of the family; it is the duty of the Court to assist families in finding peaceable resolutions wherever possible.

Question 3

Why are you running for this particular court seat?

Serving as a Magistrate in Warren County Domestic Relations Court taught me that I was helping so many more families from behind the bench than I had from in front of it.  I also learned that with good leadership,  a Courthouse culture can foster compassion and an emphasis on service to the public. I want to bring my experience, expertise, and empathy to the Hamilton County Domestic Relations Court. I want to foster that all-important culture of putting the needs of the public first by retaining and hiring people who are committed to helping families. I want to create greater access to justice for families by increasing the Court's accessibility, transparency, and diversity.
